Second last week

Hi,

Time is going very fast.  Its almost time to come back to Finland. Yesterday was really hot day. I got some sun burned on my back and it hurts “a little bit”.  Not nice at all.

This week I have done following tasks:
– Putting supporting canes to tomatoes.
– Planting basil to glasshouse.
– Sowing vegetable seeds.
– Watering.
– Attached Clematis to climb the fence.
– Packing tents from weekend’s events.
– etc.

Here is some photos what I have done:

Vale, vale, vale

Dime, dime, dime!

This week Riina did a morning shift at housekeeping. Every morning she made a cleaning list of the rooms and helped to fill cleaning products in the storage. She checked the rooms with the mistress if they are ready for the customers. And she got to actually clean a toilet one day!!! Progress!! In the housekeeping only one person speaks English (a little) but luckily Riina had her own translator Lisa. She is a Chinese trainee from university and she is an exchange student. Riina has liked the people there and learned some new Spanish words. 🙂

This is the cleaning list. Meanings of the colors: green means free and clean, long orange are dirty from yesterday, short orange dirty from the check outs today, blue is a upcoming customer today and white ones are occupied.

Pinja was in a different department, she was in food & beverage doing an evening shift. She worked mainly in the other restaurant cleaning the dishes, serving food and drinks and doing other unpleasant things. In other words she hates it and is happy to go to housekeeping next week  to learn Spanish (as Riina is going to “Bistro”, good luck mate). The only things that made Pinja somewhat happy were the workers in Bistro and the big 92pax group of Finnish people that arrived on Thursday.

looking forward to working on Sunday,

//On Wednesday last week the dutch people celebrated Koningsdag (kingsday). I had my own Kingsday’s party in bed (fever), but I saw pictures on the internet.

On Sunday it was time for Finnish partying because of the first of may. In Finland it’s traditional to eat then some kind of doughnuts so I also did those. In the evening me and my roommates went to den Haag to do some shopping. There were lots of people and the sun was shining. Loved it.

Otherwise life has been pretty much all work. Because of the Mothers day, we have lots of orderings that means busy, long days. At least there’s always something to do 🙂

Summer has come (at least for two days) and tomorrow it’s luckily a holiday. After that it seems that I will have only four days of work left. Time flies!

Last week in Holland

Hello again! Our last week went very well. We were our workplace two days and the final week we were free. Our boss gave to us present. Our presents was Hoorn own bread, workplaces own cookbook and map. Wednesday was kingsday and people celebrate the same way than in Finland people celebrate may day and midsummer. Everyone on the street had stalls and music.  Thursday and friday we shop our last present to Finland and we took our last pictues. Saturday our fly flyed back to Finland. 🙂 It was very good experience for us and we are thankfully.

AAA-Group in discomfort zone

Hola chicos, here we are again writing a new post. Now we have two weeks behind in our internship in forestal park. We have been very colorful two weeks, because of many basic problems and those problems are been little cultureshock for us. We have good examples, which are  broken cell phone, hand laundry and spanish and Finnish culture differences at work. It is Finnish style to tell for you bad things first. Dont worry guys, we have done lot of great things too, but i dont know is that good idea to tell for you guys what we have done.

In our last post, we didn’t have any pictures so now you get eleven. Pictures are about basic things in our works and life in Mallorca. Sorry pictures are pretty boring stuff. We hope that we get better material for examples diving with sharks, glide sail or fall tirolina head down. We will do that last one in some day( our supervisor told us).

Adios until next time!
