In the second week I have been going more around the company. In the beginning of the week I was working at the bending machine’s. I have learned something about adjusting the machine that I haven’t seen before. This method is used for bending small products. The extra plus about this is that school has the exact same bending machine as in Pikval.

The next few days I have been working at the painting line, meaning that you take the product of the automatic line and in to boxes. Because of the sizes and the amount of the products, they asked for some extra help. Pikval is using a full automatic powder painting line. Now I learned how beautiful and good quality this paint job looks on the product. I have to find out if this process is more expensive for school to be used in the future.

The last days I have been working with the punch and lazer machine. This machine is fully automatic cuts and punches all kind of holes and lines. The machine is fast and loud and because of his speed I think a money maker for the company. It means a lot of waiting and then quickly change the material (about 1-1,5m x 2-2,5m plates). Specially the 2 till millimeters tick plates are not easy to Handel by hand, but that’s the metal business. This machine was really interesting but to difficult to understand in the short time I have.

In the weekend came the bad news for me. I have been the 2 weeks in Pikval little sick of flew(I thought). But on Friday it because so bad that I decided to go and see a doctor on Saturday. He found out that I had otsatulehdus (don’t know in English) and got antibiotics. Because my flew became worse I decide to go to JAO’s company Doctor. They found out that I have long infection (keuhkokuume). With my otsatulehdus and keuhkokuume I got sick leave for the 3th week. That means now week report from that 3th week.

Even I had to wake up at 5 o’clock I really liked working at Pikval. I think because of the size of the company it’s important to Jyväkylä region. Now I understand better what’s going on in the company and know better what kind of students I can send for internship to Pikval. A big thanks to Pikval for my internship place at their company.

The first day I started later then normal because I had some important meeting at Jao.

At the beginning I got of course my locker and the manager showed me around the company. We also talked about the wishes of the company. Because of my Jao fork truck card I am allowed to use the fork truck but only under supervision. Also a need to ask permission for using or adjusting machines  in the company. We talked about the safety instructions and medical aspects in the company. The workdays are starting at 6 but luckily (because of my work trip) I can start at 7 and end at 15.

Almost the whole week I have been working on a big pressing machine. At first this was not the plan. The plan was few days there and then going to the sawing department. But on Thursday the problems with the machine started and I didn’t know why and how to fix it. After a chat with the floor manager we decided to stay at the same working place. I didn’t mind and I think it’s not only about my learning process. For me it’s also important to be useful to the company.

On Friday I still went to the sawing department, but there was not enough work for the whole day. There was only small numbers and because of that you need to change the pipes and the adjustment to the machine. This is too difficult for me, so after understanding the process I went to the robot line where I took care of labeling the boxes and made them ready for transport.
